FILM ‘SICK’ WINS THE GOLDEN KNIGHT AWARD
AT MALTESE FILM FESTIVAL
Debut British Director MIKE RYMER has won the Golden Knight
at The 47th Golden Knight Malta International Film
Festival. The accolade, awarded for his 15 minute
short film 'SICK', will be announced at the festival's
closing ceremony on Saturday 29th November.
At the festival, Jenny Wong of the British High Commission
in Malta, will accept the award on Mike's behalf. 'SICK'
has now received 6 international awards and 6 nominations
from 32 festival selections across 15 countries and 5
US states.
Vincent Lungaro-Mifsud (Festival Chairman) said:
“The judging panel had no doubt when awarding 'SICK'
the Golden Knight in Class C (open for commercial short
productions) at the 47th edition of the Golden Knight
Malta International Film Festival. A fitting winner in
this the top class of the festival.”

'SICK' is an independent drama and a co-production by
EgoProject Films and Patchwork Productions. It was produced
by Christine Hartland and directed by Mike Rymer from
a script that he developed while at the International
Film School Wales (a Skillset Screen Academy). The film
explores issues of mental health, namely anxiety and depression,
is endorsed by Samaritans and was largely funded by South
London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Funds.
It was financially assisted by Film London and The London
Borough of Wandsworth, and enabled by Screen South and
